By submitting your artwork and payment, you are confirming the details of your Scout Books® order. Please double check color, quantity, and size – we want to make sure you are getting what you want. If you have any questions about the details of your order, please email us at hello@scoutbooks.com
Upon receipt of the payment and digital files, Scout Books will prepare a digital preview in PDF format that can be viewed on your computer screen. We recommend previewing in Adobe Reader or Acrobat Pro. Your approval of the PDF file is binding. Please keep in mind that PDF screen proofs are not color accurate, and that Cover Ink colors may print darker on chipboard than they would on white paper. If you have a color-sensitive project please let us know and we can discuss additional proofing options.
Scout Books will let you know as soon as possible if we discover any technical issues in your supplied files that will cause problems in the printing of your order. You will be given the opportunity to supply new files. Please keep in mind that we are not proofreading your files for spelling or grammatical errors, only for printability.
Once artwork is submitted or changes to a proof are requested, new or updated proofs can take up to 1 business day to be produced. Please keep this in mind for your total turnaround time.
Our standard production time is 12-15 business days for Pocket and Mega Scout Books up to 3500 pieces, and possibly longer for larger orders. Production time begins upon our receipt of your approval for the PDF preview. Production time is not guaranteed.
If you need a faster production time, you can select the option to expedite your production timeline while placing your order. Additional rush fees will apply. If you need a faster rush than those offered through the website, please contact us and we will make every possible effort to accommodate your project’s deadline. Additional super rush order fees and/or additional shipping charges may be required to expedite your order.
Shipping time is not included in this production timeline. Please factor up to seven days for Standard Ground Shipping, depending on your location in the USA. Standard shipping is not guaranteed. Orders to international destinations are subject to additional shipping time, and may also be subject to customs clearance. We will do everything in our power to make sure your order is properly packaged and labelled for international customs clearance, but there can still be unexpected customs delays. Scout Books bears no responsibility or liability for customs delays. Customers are urged to investigate all applicable restrictions and laws regarding shipping to international destinations. Please talk to us if you have specific questions about shipping and/or customs. International orders are responsible for any additional duties charged by their country.
Full cash refunds or store credit are available for 30 days after the placement of an order, assuming no artwork has been submitted and no work has been completed on the order. After 30 days, refunds will be available in the form of store credit. Partial refunds may be available for orders in various stages of production.A $100 fee will be taken out of the refund if the order is cancelled after proofing but before production. 50% of the order will be refunded if some printing has occurred but it has not passed into the next stage of production. By agreeing to this list of terms of use, you are verifying that you are submitting “original artwork” that was created by you, or artists or designers working with you, and that is not infringing on copyrights, trademarks, service marks, privacy, publicity rights, or any other legally protected property belonging to others.
Scout Books are utilized by many different types of people and businesses for many different applications. Upon occasion, there may be individuals and/or companies from a variety of industries that use Scout Books in a similar fashion to your intended uses. While we will make every effort to work with all customers that wish to create their own Scout Books, we do not police all such uses. However, if we believe that any order may violate the copyright / trademark / intellectual property interests of another party, we reserve the right to refuse any particular order. If you have any questions about any content you wish to include in your project, we suggest that you confirm that you can use all intended content with your legal counsel. In general, if content of any kind (including text, images, illustrations, photographs, trademarks, logos, etc.), in whole or in part, was created, or is owned, by another party and /or is not original, new creative content, there may be issues regarding your ability to use such content. You may need to obtain permission or a license from the content creator to use non-original materials.
Scout Books is committed to being a business that is sustainable, inclusive, kind, creative and lawful. We support freedom of speech, and aim to be a resource for a wide range of people and projects. However, if your project, organization or cause promotes hate or bigotry, or otherwise includes any content of any kind or nature that is illegal, obscene, highly offensive, or overtly political, we reserve the right to decline your order. In addition, we reserve the right to refuse an order if it is from an organization listed on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s published list of Hate Groups, and / or if a proposed project contains hate speech (anything that directly attacks people based on their “protected characteristics” such as religious affiliation, race, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, national origin, or disability). We also reserve the right to refuse work that promotes illegal activities, or contains content that is illegal, infringing, offensive or inappropriate. In the event that your order violates this policy, we will politely decline your order and immediately refund your payment.
Scout Books are offset printed on 100% recycled papers. There is naturally some variation in paper color with the chipboard. Chipboard is a fibrous material, and has an increased likelihood of causing hickeys. A hickey is a tiny spot that occurs when paper fiber or dust particles get between the ink and your paper stock. We think it adds to the charm of a Scout Book, but if you are concerned about hickeys, we recommend avoiding heavy ink coverage.
