Located in Lenexa, Kansas, Messenger Coffee are coffee roasters with a vision. They produce excellent coffee and work hard to give back to the coffee farming communities from where their beans are sourced. With their Messenger Coffee Give Back Initiative, not only do they pay above Fair Trade pricing for their beans, they give 10% of that straight back to the coffee farmers. This means that they are able to directly impact and support those communities. They’ve teamed up with the Center for Fair and Alternative Trade, an organization working on the ground with the coffee farming communities. The center helps them understand the specific needs of different communities – whether it be schools, clean water, agricultural assistance.
We’re impressed by the core values of this amazing company, and happy that they chose to work with us on a custom Scout Books project – a beautifully designed coffee cupping book. (You can pick one up here!) They worked with the skilled Brandon Wilson of Contrabrand, based in Kansas City. This 5″ x 7″ mega-sized Scout Book features black ink on the cover and is bound with white staples. The inside pages feature a custom design for evaluating your coffee – the perfect tool to bring to your next cupping!
