DISAPPEARING BIRDS OF NORTH AMERICA: SAPSUCKER WOODS EDITION

A pocket-sized guide from a larger endeavor by Jen Delos Reyes. This edition highlights 12 birds, on the brink of extinction, that call the Sapsucker Woods in Ithaca, NY home. Breathtaking illustrations of these 12 species are paired with vital information, like the deep effects of the climate change crisis and invaluable lessons we can learn from these resilient creatures. This was a truly collaborative effort:

1. Written by Jen Delos Reyes
2. Layout and Illustrations by June Ahn
3. Original Artwork by Cindy Maguire, Mary Mattingly, Chuck Stebelton, Kelsey Oseid, Ranu Mukherjee, Fiorella Ikeue, Se Young Au, Chalet Comellas, Oscar Rene Cornejo, Sophy Tuttle, Michael James Oatman, and Paul Druecke.

Together, this book transcends its humble size, carrying a profound message of hope, urgency, and beauty.

WHAT MATTERS MOST

In times of uncertainty, it’s important to reflect and intentionally direct our energy toward what truly matters. Over 100 Lehigh University students, faculty, staff, and community members in Bethlehem, PA, were asked to do just that: share their passions, their deepest concerns, and their hopes for a better world. From environmental activism to mental health advocacy, contributors discussed various issues and identified art from the Lehigh University Art Gallery that sparks conversation. Their beautifully crafted book, designed by Lauren Beauchner Korkidas, incorporates thought-provoking prompts that encourage people to think outside the box about community, identity, and well-being.

At Colorado State University, the pursuit of a greener future is not a distant dream but a pressing reality. CSU’s Platinum Guide: A Guide to Living and Learned Sustainably empowers students to navigate their environmental impact, and learn how to contribute to positive change. The guide is designed with a fun point system, having students accumulate points for helpful activities they’re currently doing, such as riding a bike, and things they can start doing, such as learning more about regeneration. CSU aims to inspire, challenge, and educate its students in sustainable living.
