The mood was somber on the morning of November 9, 2016 here in our shop. Historically we have not shared political views as an organization. But never before has a candidate run on a platform that contrasted so starkly with our core values.
We held a meeting to discuss, coalesce, share tears, and offer each other support. As we worked our feelings out, we put our minds to action, and an idea emerged, which was to make a statement of what we can affirm as our beliefs as individuals, and as a company. This, like so many good ideas, comes in the form of a book. Combining ideas from our entire team, we created the We Choose Hope Scout Books. We decided on red and gold inks for the cover design, and whipped up a dot grid made of hearts for the pages. One red and one gold staple were the final touches.
We are thankful to put our energies into something we can all believe in, and to promote this message of love and hope. To share this message with all of you, we will be including a copy of We Choose Hope in every order we ship out, and selling them in our shop with all proceeds being donated to the American Civil Liberties Union.
